BUFFALO BILLS (#21) OFFENSE (135 RUSH/207 PASS) vs. PITT STEELERS (#5) DEFENSE (101 RUSH/210 PASS allowed)

PITT STEELERS (#28) OFFENSE (95 RUSH/195 PASS) vs. BUFFALO BILLS (#3) DEFENSE (105 RUSH/191 PASS allowed)

This week’s Sunday night game features two of the leagues Best Defensive Units and two not so great Offenses. The Steelers were left for dead after a terrible start due to QB Big Ben injury and multiple other injuries. But they come into this game as one of the hottest teams in the NFL, winning 7 of their last 8 games, with the Defense allowing 17 points or less in 6 of those 8 games. The Bills come in off a rare loss as they fell short a huge comeback last week over the Ravens. The Bills are one of the two best Road teams in the NFL this season, going (5-1) straight up and (5-0-1) ATS.

Neither Offense is a big risk taking type Offense, both being Grinder Offenses trying to not lose the game on the Offensive side of the ball. When you have the 3rd ranked Defense (Bills) or the 5th ranked Defense (Steelers), this surely makes a ton of sense. The Steelers have been sensational on Defense with (+33) turnovers. Last week Bills QB J. Allen had his worst game of the season, getting sacked 6x, fumbling ball away once and only passing for 146 yards. The Steelers will surely put on the most pressure possible to force him to dink and dunk and make 10+ play drives to score as they will be without their #1 wide out JuJu Schuster-Smith who injured his knee on Thursday. This is a gigantic loss for the Steelers.

Let’s now look at the Bills on the Road this season: The Defense has not allowed over 20 points. Three of their 6 Road games were decided by one score or less. The Steelers at Home are (5-2) straight up and (5-2) ATS at Home this season, winning their last 4 games at Home straight up.

The Bills Defense is allowing (16.3) points per game this season overall, (#2 in the NFL). The Steelers Defense is allowing only (18.6) points per game (6th best in NFL).

The Steelers have played 10 Unders this season, and 3 Overs. They have allowed 17 points or less 7x. They have allowed 24 points or less in all but 3 games. The Steelers have played 5 straight UNDERS and the Bills on the Road have played 5 of their 6 games “UNDER” the Total.

The Bills best two scoring quarters have been #2 (93 points) and #3 (96 points). The Steelers best two scoring quarters are 2nd (76) and fourth (79).

The Bills are just (3-17) straight up playing on Prime Time TV games since 2002.

FINAL KICKS:
Both teams have excellent FG kickers and I’d fully expect to see way more FG’s than Touchdowns in this game. Winds are always a factor at Heinz Field, so always check weather before making your bet. It looks like Snow is expected for Pittsburgh, but not starting until very late in the game. Winds are around 10mph at the time of this article.

Both teams are in strong contention for a Wild Card berth so expect both to be very high energy and focused tonight. The Bills finish with games @ New England that will be really live next week if they can sneak out of Pittsburgh tonight with a win. The close at Home hosting the Jets. The Steelers play both remaining games on the Road, so this is last Home game and with Jets and Ravens left, they can nil afford a loss here tonight. The fans may not see lots of Touchdowns here, but this is a Defensive minded fans elite game. Lots of hard hitting and chess match all the way thru by both Head Coaches.

Enjoy the game and may all your wagers be WINNING ones.
