ELITE SHADOW BETS COLLEGE HOOPS “GAME OF THE DAY” FULL PREVIEW

TWO TOP 10 COLLEGE HOOPS TEAMS BATTLE IT OUT IN DURHAM WITH ESPN GAMEDAY IN TOWN!

LAS VEGAS BETTING ODDS:  DUKE BLUE DEVILS (-8)  vs. LOUISVILLE CARDS ~  TOTAL: (138)

Well this is and will continue to be the College Hoops season unlike any we’ve seen in years as there are simply no super Elite type teams like we’ve always had in past. This could be the year we see 4 non Titan types make it to the Final 4. This early season Saturday card features over 10 Top 25 teams going on Road against non ranked teams. Can you say “UPSET CITY” will be tomorrow’s headlines for at least 4 of those games?? This game is the Marquee Game of the entire day and ESPN’s “Gameday Crew” made this their first stop of the CBB season. Two top 10 teams fighting it out in front of one of the 3 best fan bases in the country….the Cameron Crazies (Duke students fan base). You will rarely get to see how good some of these teams are playing low level opponents and beating them by 20+ points, but this is the game Pro Bettors love as you can get a truer gauge watching two top contenders battling it out in early January.

We are now fully into Conference season, and coming into this 2020 season Duke and Louisville weren’t just teams expected to vie for the ACC Title, but to win the National Title later this year. This isn’t close to your loaded Duke team but it’s a very good team again, playing with a deeper mix and no off charts superstar like last season with Zion and Barrett. But Duke did return PG Tre Jones, who will be a first round pick in the next NBA Draft. So the most important player Duke Coach K needed returned and trust me folks, if he didn’t this Duke team wouldn’t be a Top 20 team. Louisville has some really good talent, but they have stubbed their toe and has has serious trouble from it’s Point Guards and scoring in the paint. They live and die from 3-Land more than almost any other team. But regardless, both teams come into this Big game ranked in the Top 20 in both Offensive and Defensive Efficiency. Hence this is one great match up to watch.

First for Louisville, they are led by one of the best talents in the nation, J. Nwora, who is shooting (57%) overall and a very impressive (44%) from 3-Land. He will be asked to possibly have his best all around game tonight, as this Cards team doesn’t take great care of the ball (point guards weak in that department), they aren’t great scoring inside the paint and they don’t crash the glass well either. How much do they live and die by the 3? In ACC play so far, they shoot (44.4%) from 3-Land and just (44.0%) from inside the paint. Trust me folks this is hard to do in the day and age of so many easy dunks made. Louisville has lost only one road game, and that was at Kentucky, where they lost a heart breaker in Overtime. At Home, they split with the only two Top 20 teams they have faced so far, beating #19 Michigan by 15 and losing by 13 to #14 Florida State. In fact since losing to then #1 Texas Tech on a neutral floor, they are just (3-5) ATS. They simply can’t just try to beat Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium shooting 3’s.

Duke comes into this game missing a key piece in 6-6″ W. Moore (and possibly 6’7″ Joey Baker) but like I said earlier this may be one of Dukes deeper teams and they all seem like the #3 best player after Jones and Carey. Yesterday we did a Preview of Michigan State and Wisconsin and we told you how the Spartans best player was coming off his worst performance of the season. He went out and played a great game in easy win last night. Well this game it’s same story for Duke’s best all around player, PG Tre Jones. His last game, a Duke bad loss to Clemson, he was just really bad shooting (6-15) and never seemed in sync the entire game. He will not repeat that type of game in front of his rabid fans. He will clearly dominate this PG battle tonight so huge edge to Duke there in this battle. He is the leader in helping the Blue Devils turn (the ball) over it’s opponents (22.5% of opponents possessions end in turnovers = #5 in nation).

ULTIMATE REVENGE SITUATION TONIGHT:

Last year the Cards were just bombing Duke and it looked like a shocking 20+ Blowout loss handed to the Dukies. But what happened in the later second half was a comeback for the ages. Duke rallied from 20+ points down to win the game 71-69. This Duke team would never come back by 20 on Road. Duke has also beaten a solid L’ville team the past 3 contests, winning 82-56 and 81-77 the other 2 games these two faced off. No doubt L’ville HC Chris Mack hasn’t forgotten that crushing comeback Loss, but the kids still on the team do as well.

TWO TOP DEFENSES FACING OFF:

This is one of those chess match games as both teams on Defense can play some suffocating ball and at times can take over the momentum just as much on Defense as many teams do on the Offensive side of the ball. It will be interesting to see how Duke’s Coach K decides to play this watching L’ville live and die all from 3-Land and unable to do much damage inside the paint. For the Cards, yes Duke is very solid on Defense, but when PG T. Jones goes out, they become a very average one. Can the Cards take advantage of some swings when Jones is sitting on the bench?

DUKE BEAT TWO ELITE HEAVYWEIGHTS BUT LOST TO STEPHEN F. AUSTIN AS MILLION POINT FAVORITE….WHO SHOWS TONIGHT?

OK unless you are living in a Cave or maybe caught up with X-mas shopping, Duke lost to Stephen A. Austin by 2 points in Overtime, as 30+ point favorites, AT HOME. Yes they lost at Cameron Indoor as gigantic favorites and yet they have huge wins under their belts, with wins over #7 Michigan State by 12 at their place and a nice win over then #1 Kansas by 2 points on a neutral court. Duke has demolished Wake by 31 and BC by 39 at Home so it’s clear for one night the Duke kids overlooked a much weaker opponent, and they did it with a team unlike any of the past years Duke teams that had superstar talents on the roster to overcome such a mind blowing Loss. The good thing now is they won’t overlook anyone else, as showing by the bombings they gave to weaker Wake and BC teams. Duke has played these type of games and are not overcome by the bigger National TV moment.

FINAL SHOT:

Just like last night we told you the line to bet Michigan State was steep and so is this line tonight. Duke will win, but it will not likely be a Blowout. We said last night’s total was off by 6 points or so and it turned out to be 9. This total is much harder to handicap as L’ville is a 3 point shooting team and if cold, this game easily goes Under as they just don’t score enough (or well) inside paint. But Nwora could go off for 35 or so and they hit a good % of their 3’s and the game easily flies Over the total. Top Pro Handicappers know this type of game may not be an instant chance to win money on this particular game, but they can get a great read on both teams for betting on or against down the road.

This should be a well played game and we expect Jones to bounce back and Duke as well off a rare Conference game loss and at least get the win on their Home court. But this one could end up to be the most exciting game of the day if the Cards can get hot from 3-land. If they can’t, this one could get ugly.
